Huey Lewis Gets A Ticket To Soulsville

Well, this could be tremendously good or horrifically disappointing. It’s hard to know before November 2, when Huey Lewis and The News are scheduled to release their first album in nine year, Soulsville.

Recorded for W.O.W. Records at Ardent Studios, Soulsville will be a 14-song set from the Stax library. Cuts will include nuggets like Little Sally Walker and Don’t Let The Green Grass Fool You along with the perpetually overdone Respect Yourself.

Word from the road is that Lewis’ band plays the hell out of these songs, as one would expect. And we know Huey has a sense of humor about himself. So, as much as Huey bashers would like snuff it out before it’s born, there’s a good chance this will be better than average.

No previews yet, but we’ll post ‘em soon as we get ‘em.

In the meantime, this really is my favorite Huey cut.
