Picture yourself in a cramped, under-air conditioned room on the rougher side of town around midnight on a Friday. The room serves beans and three by day and cheap beer by night, the tables crowded toward the walls to accomodate what is called a dance floor but is just another piece of rug stained with chicken grease and splotches of flying beer.
The vibe is lound and hot and beautiful. People who aren’t purposely swapping bodily fluids in the darkened corners of the room are swapping sweat on the dance floor, bumping and grinding against each other to the sounds of soul, R&B and afro-beat.
