February 7th is the date Paul McCartney will release his new album called Kisses On The Bottom. The album’s title is taken from the 1935 Fats Waller tune, “I’m Going To Sit Right Down And Write Myself A Letter,” one of a dozen standards Sir Paul includes in the 14-song set. The other two tunes, “My Valentine” and “Only Our Hearts,” are McCartney originals that round of the tribute to the songs of his youth.
The album, which will come in standard and deluxe packages, includes a star-studded cast of supporting players. Diana Krall and her band provide the music, Tommy LiPuma oversaw the production in Capitol Records’ studio in London, New York and L.A. and friends Eric Clapton and Stevie Wonder make guest appearances.
The family even got involved in the act: daughter Mary McCartney did the cover photography.
