Ramblings Of A Prophet

If you have even the slightest idea of what Chuck Prophet is all about, you won’t be surprised that his email newsletter is, itself, a work of a fractured mind.

An excerpt of his latest:

This weekend is the Magnolia Cafe Faux Blood Festival. A two day festival in swamps of Louisiana Oct 30, 31 with True Blood sound-trackers: Jace Everett, CC Adcock, Mike Stinson, Darryl Hance and more. Music starts on Saturday evening and goes on the outdoor stage until dark on Sunday. After that it moves inside.

The Magnolia Cafe in St. Francisville rules. The area is beyond remote. [It's actually where they filmed the opening montage of True Blood]. It’s pretty unreal. There are cool places to eat, (And you know Chuck likes to eat food) plus there’s B and B’s and Motor Courts. A coffee shop too.

So make the trek and eat your own body weight in powdered sugar confections. Geek out on Goldband recording artists! Maybe a little barefoot dancing, fishing, camping; you can sign up for swamp tours, haunted plantations tours [where some say they've seen the image of the bride who jumped from the side of the building to her death on her wedding day].

Yes, Hallowe’en too. And there will be costumes. Some deliberate, some probably not.

Weird and then some.

But wait there’s more; the Angola Prison rodeo is on the Sunday. Itself blood sport to power of ten.

Folks, it’ll get ugly. More details here: http://www.myspace.com/fauxbloodfest
