Rare Live Acoustic: Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt

17 Oct

HivettThere are two kinds of people in the world: those who hear “I saw Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt in concert last night” and get it and those who don’t.

The ones who don’t get it need an explanation and even then don’t get it. It’s like describing sex to someone who’s never had it. The description always falls short of the experience. That’s why truly great concerts (and sex) live on in your memory and the rest get reviews.

John Hiatt – The Open Road (Live Acoustic)
Lyle Lovett – Natural Forces (Live Acoustic)

Just downloaded the album and was disappointed with the studio version. Glad to find the acoustic version after seeing them live. What’s up with “The open road” track overlaid in the middle? Still get chills “I hope that I’m worth dying for”.

Ok, I get it, because I have seen them too. But, for the record, I have never had any of my bad sex receive a review.

Old joke: Bad sex is like bad pizza. Still pretty good.
