For years, I thought he was singing: “You picked a fine time to leave me Lucille/With four hundred children and a crop in the fields.” Four children, four hundred children, it’s still a great song, reminiscent of that Hee-haw tune: “Where, where are you tonight/Why did you leave me here all alone?”
