The “godfather of the 1950′s folk revival movement” (according to History.com), Woody Guthrie passed away on October 2,1967.
He suffered from what is now diagnosed as Huntington’s chorea which was treat in psychiatric facilties on the 50′s and 60′s. He died at the Creedmore Psychiatric Center in Queens at the age of 55.
